North Conway, NH – The Mount Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce (MWVCC) announces its highly anticipated 2026 MWVCC Annual Meeting & Awards Cocktail Reception, set to take place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 5–7 PM at the beautifully renovated Evergreen Room at King Pine Ski Area, nestled among the hills and lakes of East Madison, NH. This signature event promises an unforgettable evening of networking, recognition, and celebration as we honor the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals within our vibrant community. MWVCC encourages businesses to register for the event, become a sponsor, or make nominations for its annual awards.
The 2026 MWVCC Annual Meeting & Awards Cocktail Reception will bring together Chamber members, leaders, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders who have played pivotal roles in the growth and prosperity of the Mount Washington Valley region. The event will highlight member accomplishments and underscore the Chamber’s commitment to promoting economic development, tourism, and innovation in the region.
Event Highlights
Annual Meeting: The MWVCC leadership will present Chamber accomplishments from the past year and goals for 2027. Members will vote in new Board Members and Officers.
Awards Ceremony: Join us as we recognize and celebrate the achievements of outstanding businesses, organizations, and individuals in the MWVCC community. Awards include the White Mountains Treasure Award, Employer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Steve Eastman Community Spirit Award. Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow attendees, MWVCC members, and community leaders, fostering new partnerships and collaborations.
Online Silent Auction: Take part in our online silent auction featuring a wide array of exciting MWV items and experiences — from art to vacation packages — with all proceeds benefiting MWVCC programs and services. Bidding opens October 15 and runs through October 30, 2026. Donations for silent auction items are welcome; contact the MWVCC office to participate.
Heavy Hors d’oeuvres & Cash Bar: Enjoy a delectable selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, sure to encourage great conversation and connections.
2026 Award Nominations Now Open
Nominations are now being accepted for four prestigious awards. Last year’s honorees set a high bar:
White Mountains Treasure Award — Each year the MWVCC honors local individuals who have given a “lifetime” of time and talent to Mt. Washington Valley. 2025 recipients: Sue Ruka and Sandy Ruka (posthumously), recognized for lives dedicated to public health.
Employer of the Year — Recognizes a business that demonstrates respect for employees, excellence in creating a safe and inviting workplace, and provides solid pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. 2025 winner: Larry and Diane Flaherty, owners of The Met Coffee House.
Entrepreneur of the Year — Honors a business that is clearly filling a community need, creating jobs, and demonstrating creativity, innovation, and community involvement. 2025 winner: Tiga Schuepp, owner of The Penguin Gallery.
Steve Eastman Community Spirit Award — Created to honor the late Steve Eastman (1949–2008), former MWVCC board member, longtime community leader, and founding publisher and editor of the Mountain Ear newspaper. This award recognizes a strong community leader who has given back to the community. The winner is selected by the Eastman family. 2025 winner: Terry O’Brien, former owner of the Red Parka Pub.
